Bob Jones is a seasoned tax professional with more than 36 years of experience in the industry and public accounting. As Principal in Charge at Ryan’s Overland Park office, Bob specializes in multijurisdictional and federal fuels and excise tax recovery and audit consulting, serving clients across a wide range of industries. His expertise spans both the United States and Canada, with a strong focus on fuel and excise tax recovery strategies.
Before his current role, Bob served as Director and National Practice Leader at a national accounting firm, where he led efforts in excise tax recovery. He also held the position of Operating Tax Manager for one of the largest less-than-truckload trucking companies in the U.S., bringing valuable industry insight to his consulting work.
A recognized thought leader in the fuels tax space, Bob has been a featured speaker at numerous national and international conferences, including those hosted by the Canadian Society of Goods and Services Taxation, the Council On State Taxation, and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
Bob is an active member of several industry associations, including the International Fuel Tax Association and the Airline Transportation Association. He currently serves on the Board of the National Accounting & Finance Council of the American Trucking Associations.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Kansas.
