Nicholas Somos is a Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions at Desmos, a global corporate finance advisory firm. He advises clients across U.S., Canadian, and global mandates, including buy-side and sell-side M&A, strategic alternatives, capital raising, and broader corporate finance advisory.
Nicholas has built a recognized practice in supply chain M&A, with experience across nearly 90 transactions involving transportation, logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, 3PL, freight brokerage, forwarding, technology, and related business services. His transaction experience spans enterprise values from approximately $5 million to $1 billion and includes work with entrepreneurs, family/founder-owned businesses, private equity groups, and public companies.
A frequent contributor to industry discussions, Nicholas speaks on M&A trends, valuation, transaction dynamics, succession planning, supply chain consolidation, transaction strategy, and the factors that drive value creation for M&A market participants. Prior to joining Desmos, he was Director, Mergers and Acquisitions Left Lane Associates and held past positions at Scotiabank and Invesco.
Nicholas holds an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and an undergraduate degree in Accounting from York University. He currently resides in Toronto with his wife and son.
